Black is where gold looks most like light. The embroidery here works in two registers: fine wavy lines of gold, champagne and olive sequin running the length of the top and trousers, and two large blooms, worked in sequin and bead, opening across the hem of the top.
Every line is set by hand, bead by bead, and each flower built up petal over petal so the surface keeps its depth. The camisole is cut with a centre slit and a flared hem over trousers that widen into a deep flare, and a beaded neck scarf, hung with black bead drops, finishes the set.
