Onde is a structured tilla corset in which gold thread is coiled into sweeping, concentric waves that follow the body's own contours from bust to hem — not a pattern imposed on the fabric but one that seems to rise from within it. Set into the waves at intervals, shisha mirrors of varying shapes and colours catch the light in flashes: square, teardrop, the occasional blush pink or pale blue that softens all that gold. At the shoulders, large teardrop mirrors hang from fine gold chains, moving independently with every step. The sides lace in cord — the tension adjustable, the silhouette entirely its own.
From the first sketch to the final stitch, Onde represents an estimated 48 hours of human attention — 6 full days of a single pair of hands. The wave pattern is first drawn and traced onto the structured base, each line mapped so the curves align across both panels of the body. The tilla coiling begins at the centre and works outward, the thread laid and couched in continuous motion. The mirrors are set individually into the channels between waves, each chosen for shape and colour before placement. The shoulder chains and teardrop mirrors are attached last — each drop hung at its own length so the fringe falls evenly.
