Mille Éclats is a hand-embellished blouse in which a gold crystal base becomes the earth and everything else — emerald, ruby, sapphire, amber, rose, teal — grows from it without apology. The stones are set in no fixed pattern, which is precisely the point: they scatter and cluster the way light does when it passes through something irreplaceable. At the hem, faceted amber crystal drops hang in a steady fringe, each one catching movement separately. The deep V-neckline cuts through all of it — one clean, unembellished line.
From the first sketch to the final stitch, Mille Éclats represents an estimated 44 hours of human attention. The design begins as a map — a designer deciding not where each stone goes, but what the overall field should feel like, the density, the colour temperature, the way the eye should travel. The base fabric is cut and structured, then flooded first in gold crystals, each one set by hand into its own placement. Then the coloured stones begin — marquise, oval, round — each chosen individually for size and hue, pressed into the fabric one at a time. The amber drops at the hem are strung and attached last, each hanging at its own specific length so the fringe falls even.
