The column is the most classical shape in eveningwear, and this one is drawn almost like sculpture: a fitted, jewelled corset above, then cloth gathered at the hip and released in a single line to the floor.
The bodice is worked by hand, sequin and seed bead set row by row across sheer panels between structured channels. The straps are deliberately uneven, one slim and hung with pearl drops, the other wide and softly pleated, so the whole gown carries a little movement even standing still.
