Lumière Tissée is a shisha blouse in which hundreds of hand-set mirrors are woven into a continuous gold lattice — each fragment a slightly different shape, each one catching the room from a different angle simultaneously. In stillness, it glows. In movement, it splinters light into something closer to weather. The silhouette is fitted through the body, releasing into a soft peplum that ends in a scalloped hem — every arc of which is finished by hand in gold thread.
From the first sketch to the final stitch, Lumière Tissée represents an estimated 50 hours of human attention. A designer first maps the lattice — the geometry of the grid, the sizing of the mirrors, the way the pattern must curve with the body's own lines. The fabric is cut and shaped, the grid traced onto it in gold thread before a single mirror is placed. Then the shisha work begins: each mirror fragment individually wrapped, anchored, and stitched into its own surround — a process that cannot be hurried because the thread must hold the mirror at exactly the right tension or the reflection tilts. The scalloped hem is constructed last, each curve measured and bound separately so the edge lies flat against whatever it meets.
