Brown is rarely given to crystal, which is what makes this halter so unusual: beadwork that begins in deep cocoa at the collar and fades, row by row, into cut silver across the bust. Florets of stone sit at the neck and chains of crystal swag across the hem, so the top reads as jewellery first and garment second.
Every bead is set by hand, in rows that grade the colour without a visible break. Below, the satin skirt is cut in one long sweep with a cascade of ruffles down the front, and a ruffle of sheer organza falls from a single shoulder to the floor.
