Orders & Products
What is the difference between Ready to Ship and Made to Order?
Ready to Ship pieces are in stock and dispatched within 1–3 business days of your order. Made to Order pieces are crafted specifically for you after your order is placed — please allow 3–4 weeks for production before your order ships.
Can I customise a piece to my measurements?
Yes. Made to Order pieces can be tailored to your exact measurements at no extra charge. Add your measurements (bust, waist, hips, height) in the order notes at checkout, or contact us before ordering if you have specific requirements.
Do you restock sold-out pieces?
We work in small runs and not all pieces are restocked. If you have your eye on something that is sold out, contact us — we may be able to make it to order.
Sizing
What sizes do you offer?
We offer sizes XXS through XL across most styles. Refer to the size guide (inches) or size guide (cm) for detailed measurements by garment type including sharara, gharara, patiala, anarkali, and churidar.
How do I choose my size?
We recommend measuring your bust, waist, and hips and comparing against our size guide. For fitted pieces like corsets and blouses, measure your bust carefully. When in doubt between two sizes, size up — it is easier to take in than let out. For Made to Order pieces, add your exact measurements at checkout.
Are your sizes true to standard sizing?
South Asian garment sizing can differ from Western sizing. Always go by the measurements in our size guide rather than your usual label size.
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship?
We ship worldwide through trusted carriers including UPS, Canada Post, DHL, USPS, and Yun Express. Currently we do not ship to South Asia (excluding India), Western Asia, Africa, or countries on the Singapore Designated Individuals and Entities list.
How long will my order take to arrive?
All orders require 1–3 business days for processing. Estimated delivery after dispatch:
- India: 3–5 business days
- North America, Europe & UK: 6–10 business days
- Australia, New Zealand & select regions: 7–15 business days
Made to Order pieces also require 3–4 weeks of production time before dispatch.
Will I get tracking information?
Yes. Once your order is dispatched you will receive a shipment notification by email. Please allow 2–5 business days for tracking information to update after dispatch.
Do I pay duties and taxes?
International orders outside of Canada, United States & India may be subject to import duties and taxes charged by your country. These are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in our prices or shipping fees.
Returns & Exchanges
What is your return policy?
Return and exchange requests must be initiated within 15 days of delivery. Items must be unworn, unused, unwashed, in original condition, and in original packaging with tags intact. Returns are processed as store credit or to the original payment method.
Are Made to Order or custom-sized pieces returnable?
No. Custom-sized and tailored pieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged, as they are made specifically to your measurements.
How do I start a return or exchange?
Contact us via the contact page within 15 days of delivery with your order number and reason for return. We will guide you through the next steps.
How are exchanges processed?
Exchanges are processed once the returned item has been received and inspected. If the requested size or item is unavailable, store credit will be issued.
Care & Quality
How should I care for my Dorie Atelier piece?
For embroidered, embellished, or delicate pieces — including those with mirror work or zari — dry cleaning is strongly recommended. For simpler pieces, gentle hand washing in cold water may be suitable. Always refer to the care label on your garment.
Will embellishments like mirrors and zari hold up over time?
Yes, when cared for properly. Avoid machine washing, soaking, or wringing embellished pieces. Dry cleaning significantly extends the life of the embroidery and embellishments.
